Map of our trip
Victoria peak and Prairie Bluff (ltor) and a rainbow.
The clouds along the highway were interesting..
Pincher ridge with the rainbow.
The rainbow was pretty.. I'm pointing towards Victoria peak which is currently buried in clouds.
Love the rainbow view..
Leaving the bikes.. the ride in was ok, we pushed through some bush to gain the road though.
Starting up the grassy slopes towards Victoria Peak.
This sheep was not perturbed by our presence.
The sheep and his domain.
Ascending the grassy slopes.
There were sections of rocky outcroppings to climb up.
Look at all the elevation we've gained so far..
Following the edge of the tree line upwards..
Terrain starting to become a little more rocky.
The trees seem to indicate that it gets windy in these parts.
Conor found a larch.. this is his first 'fall' hike.
It's getting late in larch season, we're lucky to find some 'hangers on'
Just a bit higher and we can enter the bowl below the cliffbands.
Traversing over towards the cliffbands.
Kind of a pick-a-route hike now. Nothing too complicated.
There's always a way up if you look around for it.
