leaving my community.. the sunrise did not disappoint.. while waiting for the light I snapped a few photos of the colourful sky.
pinks, blues, orange yellows.. so pretty..
getting to the sbx where we were all meeting, I noticed the skyline and scrambled to find a vantage point that didn't include a bunch of weird foreground objects.. I mostly got it. lol
along highway 40 the light was illuminating some mountains.. I couldn't help it and had to stop to grab a couple photos.
view from the parking lot..
view from the parking lot.. I'm pretty sure that's Mt Fox.. one day I'll hike up that ridgeline to the summit.
-26 to start the day.. I doubled my socks, so I was a.ok.
yeah, it's the toilet.. but the light was nice. look at those blues and those whites.. so pretty.
Ruth at the trailhead, all smiles :)
Trying to start the trip but Jamie's still mucking around in the car.. I shouldn't complain to much. I was the slowest in the group.
first part of the trail.. already I'm behind.. lol.. the light was awesome.
I liked the light on the tree and Jamie was in the frame so I snapped some photos.
Tree ghost embrace.. When the wind gusts and snow falls from the branches,
Jamie's hopeful plan.. we didn't end up going to where his finger was pointing.
on the map we're at the red "dot", we continued up towards the turnoff to Blueberry Hill 3.2 where we then ascended Blueberry Hill.
Jamie waiting for me.. a common theme.
Jamie coming up the hill.. notice I'm on the ground. I fell after trying to back-up and my ski's got crossed. Unfortunately I fell on one of my poles and bent it out of shape.
Still on the ground, Jamie approaches to give me heck for bending his pole. (not really) I had trouble getting back up.. old people shouldn't be allowed to fall down they might never get up again.
Jamie, trying to un-bend my bent pole. Ariana looking on.
Ruth leading and Denise in second place. The trees were magical.
Round the corner.. when it's as cold as this things tend to fog up.. like glasses and camera lenses.
I stopped to try for a landscape photo.. shadows on the snow.
Turnoff towards Blueberry hill.. Ruth is already leaving us behind.
