  • Looking back in the approach valley. The two ladies behind were moving steadily fast and I tried to stay ahead of them. Consequently I was out of breath a lot.

  • Across the valley from the col, the hot springs have become quite popular and attract a bunch of folks.

  • My ascent.. On my gps, there was a trail labeled 'alternate route' which I'd read was good to ascend because it'd be slab and rubble rather than loose scree.

  • First look at Mist's summit ridge. tbh, it looks a little intimidating, my approach will be from the right along the ridge and I'm hoping to descend along the darker rock line.. it looked pretty steep from here.

  • Closer to the top of the ridge now.. the ascent to the Mist summit is looking a little bit more reasonable now.

  • I'd met a couple of women at the col that weren't interested in reaching the main summit, they had asked about descent options and I told them of my ascent line which wasn't "too steep" they left to ascend the outlier before heading down.
