  • Lake Agnes trail, devils thumb, and Mt Whyte in the back. The col we're aiming for is on the skyline right.

  • At the back of Lake Agnes now. Mt Niblock above Conor.. our trail is further to the back, up the scree cone, up the cliffband, into the upper bowl and upto the col. From there we should be able to access Niblock and Whyte.

  • Looking back towards Lake Agnes. On the right is a trail that ascends the beehive and leads up to Devil's thumb.

  • Time to helmet up as we get into looser territory. We paused here for a bit and the mosquitoes came out of the bushes to greet us.

  • At the top of the scree cone as we approach the waterfall cliffband. Slight bit of routefinding here, but it was marked with cairns so it wasn't too bad.

  • As we approached the waterfalls, a Mountain goat popped out and wandered over towards our left. I guess it took me a while to get my camera out as he's far away by the time I took the photo.

  • In the upper bowl looking back. Terrain was still good, rocks on snow and it wasn't too slippery or steep yet.

  • The route heads up there underneath Mt Niblock. As we get closer, the trail keeps on leading us on.

  • All of a sudden we're on the summit signing the summit register. As we ascended it started raining and I put my camera into my backpack to try and keep it dry. We gained the col then climbed up loose rock to get to the summit in the rain. Once we got to summit, we put on raincoats and I was able to cover my camera and try and make photos.
