Into the trees.. Every time we have to step over a fallen tree, the subject of Haffner creek comes up..
We skirted the cliffband on the right until it disappeared, leading to the open valleys above.

James Walker on the right. There is a route that leads up the facing slope, onto the ridge and then gains the summit. We'll head towards the far right and up another valley (unseen)
We'd gotten to the upper valley, it was gorgeous. Jamie's checking the map to see where we head from here. There's a route that heads straight up the mountain at center, but we didn't take it and made our way to the right side of the photo
