    Mt Kidd

After parking at the trailhead, the light on nearby Mt Kidd was hard to resist.. I took numerous photos.

Another photo of the top of Mt Kidd. This one is cropped for 10x9 and I'll probably turn it into a desktop wallpaper. I love shots like this with the nice light

After parking the car at the trail head, the view across at the top of Mt Kidd was enhanced by nice morning light.

We'd gained some elevation and the views started to open up a little. Photos were made. The clouds were making the light come and go.

    Pause

We paused to take some photos from the first viewpoint.. Marko, Dan, Laura, Natasha and Conor all gear up as we resume our ascent along the west ridge of limestone mtn.

    Conor on Rock, Sitting

Conor sat on this rock and hung his feet over the edge. He looks tense. I looked over the edge after, it was a long way down to the highway.

A view of Mt Kidd with some trees in the foreground. The clouds moved and the light did that thing where it lit up the trees. Down below is the parking area for Galetea and a portion of the Kananaskis river.

    Up

Making our way up the ridgeline. Apparently Andrew Nagura has Limestone in his book - More Scrambles in the Canadian Rockies, this is not his ascent route.

  • Good Stuff

    Good Stuff

We encountered a bit of snow on the ascent. The snow had a hard crust that we were generally able to kick into. We'd put on our microspikes for this part.

    Final ascent

After breaking above the treeline the slope became less steep. The views from this lower summit were good. There was a bit of wind.
