What a magical walk.. The colour is warm and inviting even without the sunlight the trees seemed to glow. Of course the light makes it that much better.
Saddleback col rimmed with flames. Sheol cresting the ridge.
Big old Larch tree catching the afternoon sun.
The turning larches turn the trail into a wonderous fairy land.. Exposed roots from thousands of hikers turn the trail into a natural staircase.
Just getting above the treeline as I ascend towards the summit of Mt Fairview
Looking back at the saddle with Mt Temple in the distance.
Just below the summit of Mt Fairview. Haddo peak and Mount Aberdeen say hello.
Some hikers near the summit, just as I got there. On descent I'd catch up to them as I tried running on the trail from the saddle to the parking lot.
Looking west towards Lake Louise. The lake looks really small from up here. This view is 1000m above the lake. You can see St Piran, the Bee-hives, Devils Thumb, Whyte and Niblock straight across the way.
View of the valley of six glaciers trail behind lake louise.
Glacier on Mt. Victoria. I was trying to catch the texture of the ice and the rock as the light hit it.
String of larches along the ridge. Lake Agnes lives behind the ridge.
Larches in the col (Saddleback) below Mt Fairview.. Cloudy light was highlighting the trees against the mountain side for me.
Some larches with Mt Temple behind.
