Conor got off work at 12:30am.. we drove to Jasper by 5:am. then to Robson visitor center to get our camping pass.. we arrived at 6:am, 5:am local time.. I slept 2 hours then we messed around for an hour until the visitor center opened and we could get our pass..
Mount Robson Visitor Center
Got our pass, heading up to the parking area to gear up.. we did stop for a coffee at the nearby food place..
we were parked and got geared up for the bike ride for kinney lake.. 7kms..
My Bike and my pack. I had to strap a second pack onto the back to carry our clothes.. apparently this was because I carried too much camera gear in the main pack.. lol
camera, pack, extra pack.. check.. ok, time to get on the bike.
Approach to Kinney lake
Conor riding on the trail to Kinney Lake.. it was up hill, but he did well.. we were looking forward to the descent.
Just getting to Kinney lake
riding the bikes was good and the uphill wasn't too bad, but the ride out was going to be much better..
A bit of light shining through the forest.. I was anxious to take a photo and this caught my eye.. all the shots to this point are from the gopro
Dropped off the bikes
took us 90min to get here, which was ok.. on the way here, we were lapping some hikers.. not sure if the bikes made too much of a difference on the way in, but on the way out, we were at the car in about 30 min.
There are a few bridges on the trail.. conor's still smiling.
on our way to whitehorn
at the end of kinney lake, the trail is still flat.. once we get to the trees, the trail will climb to the top of the headwall on the right.
on the other side is the whitehorn campground.. it marks the half way point on the way to berg lake. We'll stay here on night 5 on the way out.
my turn to cross the bridge.
Here I am.
Above my head in the background is the whitehorn ranger station..
